Recently purchase a 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 with 5.7L Hemi and 8 speed transmission. While driving home the transmission started acting up. Long story short the dealership said the trans needed replaced. Purchased a used trans out of a 2015 Ram and had it installed by a individual. After the install I lost function of the ERS. Took to the dealership to have it reprogrammed and was told that the valve body/TCM need to be replaced because they are getting a VIN error due to the VIN#'s not matching between the truck and TCM. My question is has anyone had this issue and is there any way possible to reprogram a TCM that has already been programmed once to another VIN#?
