I did see that gap when I was investigating ways to mount. How did you reach your hand under that metal bumer to tighten the nut down? I'm kinda worried about drilling into the metal but maybe I'll have too if I can't find another way. Thanks for the pics!

I had my brother in law hold the bar and bolt down then I crawled underneath the truck and tightened the nut. I also double nutted it just to be safe.

How did you mount the light bar to the bumper like that?

I have a Big Horn Edition with the same bumper style as you do and tow hooks as well. I have two Rigid Dually Spots I wanted to mount behind my grille but found out I can't due to active shutters. So I moved to the bumper idea and searched for literally days before I found this thread. So please share the secret!

its possible to mount lights behind the grill with active grill shutters....just have to be creative and really want them back there lol.

Do you have a pic of the bracket with the shutters installed and grill removed? I honestly can't see how that would work...

I wouldn't do it.. But that's cool how you did the license plate never seen that before...

I would like to know more about your grill inserts though. You make them or buy them?

IMO

I didn't get a picture of the shutters installed with the brackets, if you look at your shutters there's a big spot in the bottom that doesn't have shutters. it will make sense when you look at them. the brackets don't go through the shutters.

why wouldn't you do it? the grill inserts are grill craft.

Just not my style, it reminds me more of something you would see in the lowered trucks, or jdm cars. It looks good though.

IMO

oh ok I thought you were talking about the lights behind the grill. ya I just hated the plate on the bumper and we will get a ticket here if its not up front somewhere.

That is a really clean set up. Did you fab that bracket or buy it somewhere?

after some measurements and mocking up I cut some pieces of flat steel and welded them to the cross member. you could also bolt them to it if you wanted something easily reversible.

How did you mount the bar? Is it curved or straight?

Here is my setup of a 42" bar. 64cd038b03d5748ce08e483864d3215f.jpgc01117e332dfb7e715ef2c9577edf002.jpge730790aa374466035064fb7abba3ce4.jpg
This is a 42" auxbeam combo 5d light bar. I purchased it from auxbeam for $170 and received it within a week. For 170 I am very impressed with it, my brother in law has a rigid and he said side by side he could not even tell that there was a difference... The light output is insane! I wired it to a on/off/on switch. One setting is just on when ever I want and the other is off the high beam. 5444323fb187b537f6d720e819b72464.jpg

I’d like to use this set-up for my Ram? I know which bar to purchase, what about the mounts used to attach it to bumper?
