Hey everyone, so I know this has been a common problem for a lot of people including myself but has anyone solved this problem? I have a 2015 ram sport and the truck has done it since brand new. Of course the dealerships are useless in trying to figure out the problem. It’s seems like these days if your vehicle doesn’t throw a code they can’t fix a problem.

It shakes badly around 70mph and up. The whole cab and box shakes. You can see the box shimmying at those speeds. The weird thing is it’s intermittent.

To add a few .

Universal joints
Motor mounts
Cab & bed mounts
Main drive shaft splines
Stub shaft splines
Intermittent partial engagement of front axle actuator

I haven't heard of this either , but there are lots of things that can cause a vibration.

The truck is a regular cab 4x4 and yes tires have been checked for run out. Drive shaft has been checked. Dealers told me it’s a normal condition. It’s been a very frustrating ordeal.

The intermittent vibration has me very confused. The truck will vibrate at that particular speed (70mph-85mph) and up then I’ll keep on driving it and it seems to smooth out for a while then come on again. Sometimes I think hitting repeated rumble strips on the highway brings it on more frequently? Could this be suspension related?

The vibration feels like it’s in the floor and the body of the truck, not the steering wheel. You can see the seats shaking and there’s no way you can rest your head back on the headrest without your brain bouncing all over the place. But like i said it’s intermittent, usually tires would be a constant vibration?

Get them road force balanced and not at the dealer. They should be able to tell you when you get this done if there are any issues with the tires when you have this done. I've owned two Rams and in my experience spin balancing doesn't do worth a damn on these big ass 20" tires. If you can afford it buy some Michelin tires from a reputable tire dealer and not Walmart.

I swear to God the hood could fly open and the dealer will say its normal. I second getting the tires road force balanced at a tire shop. I'd also have them thoroughly check the suspension. Worn tie rods or a worn strut/shock can cause a vibration like that as well. Mine is smooth as butter all the way to 95...errr I mean 75.

I would say if its intermittent, its not the tires, unless there are broken cords/belts within the tire.
If a tire is out of balance it will vibrate at that certain speed consistently.

Does it vibrate at a consistent RPM range every time (you said it comes and goes, what are the RPMs when it comes and what are they when it goes)

My truck vibrated bad enough that you could see the jump seat arm rest shaking...but that was during the winter and the wheels must have had snow stuck on them, after a while in the sun it melted and the vibration went away.

I had the same issue. 2015 RCSB. Dealer said it was "normal"... but they rebalanced the tires and it went away 90%.

On another note.... $3000 worth of suspension work later...no shimmy, shake...Nothing...

The vibration seems to come on around 1900rpm (which is about 75mph on the highway) and goes around 2300rpm. But like I said in an earlier post it doesn’t do it all the time. Another thing to note about my trucks odd behavior is the suspensions inability to soak up bumps. I know it’s a RCSB so it should be a stiffer ride but when I hit a more aggressive tar strip bump on the highway the whole truck shudders and feels like it could go into the old death wobble they use to have.
