I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have a 2016 1500 Hemi Big Horn and there is a piece of sheet metal, or maybe plastic that has started to basically flap around in the wind at higher speeds. Sorry I can't be more specific, I haven't seen it myself, but the mechanics told me that is what is going on. I can't remember if they said metal or plastic. They said it's a piece that basically protects the undercarriage from road debris and it shouldn't be removed. They said it's very thin and there is no way to fix it because there is nothing to attach it to. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how was it resolved? It's driving me nuts and they are basically telling me they can't do anything to fix it. Help!

Find another shop. Those guys don’t want to help you.
What he said, find someone else to look at it, and show you what is going on with it. Very suspect as to what is going on. It could be something simple...

Agree with having someone else look at it. Gonna go out on a limb and ask...is it possible it is your heat shield, or part of it is loose? That could possibly cause this.

There is no shield on the underside of your Ram that can't be secured.
Even if someone has to go to Home Depot & picks up some plumbing strap or sheet rock corner strap & some screws or rivets

In retrospect, I could be more helpful myself. What you want in a shop is someone who will put the truck on a lift, diagnose the problem, and then take you out to see the damaged part for yourself.

Then you can get an explanation of what it is / does, and what it will cost to repair or replace it. An honest shop will take the time to educate a customer; not just ask them to take a bill in blind faith.

So ask questions at the next shop. Are they going to provide this type of customer service? Answer your questions and let you take photos to share with more knowledgeable friends or on here?

Beware of the shops with a blanket policy of “no customers in the shop”. That’s just bad customer service masquerading as “safety”. Certainly no shop wants customers wandering freely into the workspace. But a decent one can and will escort you to see your vehicle work in progress.

The best information you’ll ever get in a shop is from the person with the dirty hands doing the actual work. You want a shop that’s happy for you to interact with them face to face. When a business tries to block that and force communication only through an office worker, it’s a red flag.

Hope this helps.

I just replaced my muffler, due to a loose baffle inside it making a buzzing noise while mainly idling and when closing doors on pas side with engine off.

I have not been to Dodge Dealership that will let you walk back in the Service area, due to Insurance
IN fact, most of dealerships used to have a waiting room with plate glass windows, so you could watch one or 2 of the Techs work. Now the 2 dealerships that i use, have covered the windows. The only window is behind the Parts Counter.

I feel that they are hiding something, like the Techs wasting time, or leaving your vehicle & going to another place.

But i also feel, that the tablets that the Service Advisers carry around, likely can take pictures & they can show you what they are trying to explain.

Sounds like it might be the fender liner. Mine tore around one of the "christmas tree" clips and hangs down a little in one spot. Let us know what it ends up being
