Thinking about putting a 5th wheel in my 2017 ram 1500 4x4 with a 5,7 box. Gonna tow a 10k travel trailer 28 foot. Will have to install air bags

That is not a very good idea. I can almost assure you that you will instantly regret this decision. The Ram 1500 is built with a soft suspension and easier ride in mind. It is NOT designed for carrying large weight. 10,000 lbs 5th wheel puts at least 20% weight in the bed... that's 2000 lbs just for the trailer. Include another 200 lbs for a 5th wheel hitch and any passengers or gear in the truck, you are easily at 2500 lbs of payload. That is probably close to DOUBLE your payload rating. Air bags can't solve all your potential issues.
If the truck bed is 6.5' a slider hitch would be needed I believe. Now I don't pull a 5th wheel but is the slider hitch the same weight as a regular hitch? To the OP I would definitely not pull a fiver with your truck. Just my .02 cents worth. Let us know what you decide.
Correct, slider hitches are usually heavier, but they aren't always necessary with newer 5th wheels. Newer 5ers usually have a rounded nose that allow for 90 degree turns without needing a slider. Of course, for lighter weight and a little more clearance you could research the Anderson Ultimate hitch. From my research, they actually move the connection point a little further back as a result of the coupler adaptor. If the truck bed is 6.5' a slider hitch would be needed I believe. Could be a troll but then again someone just illiterate on Towing. That said you tow a fifth wheel with that truck he's putting his life and anybody else's life that is with him in danger. Troll possibly but maybe just looking for knowledge. That is the purpose of this board isn't it, to share information. I'd like to see a picture with truck and 5er hooked up. Just saying.
Too much trailer for the truck....This is a bad idea.
Having said that...This has to be a troll, Nobody is ignorant enough to actually think you could pull a 10,000 pound 5th wheel with a 1500.
But the RV Dealer said he could pull anything!
