2017 Ram 1500 Fuel Mileage Crew vs Single Cab?

So im wondering why the single cab has worst rated fuel mileage than the crew cab.

Strange, I've got a '12 crew and '15 reg - the MPG on the reg is better than the crew by leagues.

it could be because of the 8spd vs 6spd but the reg cab has 3.92 gears so it may eliminate this difference.

The 8spd makes a huge difference. I went from a '14 w/ 6sp to a '17 w/ 8sp and gained a good 2-3 mpg on the same drive to work. Plus the '14 had 3.55 and the new truck has 3.92, so it could be a touch better at cruising speed if it had the 3.55. But the get up and go of the 8sp w/ 3.92 gears is pretty hard to beat.
