Need to decide which new diesel truck to purchase, 2018 or 2019? It looks like there will be steep discounts on the 2018’s between now and March. But is the 2019 worth the steeper price when compared to the 2018? I’m trading up from a GMC and need the towing ability.

Go for the 18. It’s the last of the gen 4 and there’s some new emissions regs coming for MY19.
The only real difference between the two is the hood, grill and a few things in the interior like the problemsome 12” infotainment radio.

I love my truck!

I don't care for the styling of the 2019 2500s. The interior is nice but I much prefer the 4th Gens. I'm glad I bought my 2018 a few months ago rather than waiting for a 2019.

In the diesel there wasn't a lot of changes from 18-19. New front end styling and interior. Also seems they did away with the 3.42 gearing so that's awesome. Wish the 8 speed had made it to the 19 but I'm sure it's coming when the new model comes out (19 is just a re-fresh of the previous gen).

The gearing and interior would probably sway me to the 19 but I'd really wait for the next gen and hopefully a 8 speed transmission.
