2018 Sport CD cable question

Neighbour wants to add a CD player to his 2018 1500 Sport and can't be talked out of it. We've found a 2013 1500 Laramie with a CD in a local wrecking yard.

It is accurate to say if he tries to use the cable and console from the 13 he'll have an to modify the wiring for the Panel Lamps Driver signal, and loose carplay unless he swaps his console lid which contains the USB hub which will require a 6to8 pin adapter.

If he's open to the new route does he just need a consol base with CD 68398167AA and a consol wiring harness 68398181AA?

If he currently has a console.sure he does since it's sport.either get the used console or order the base and order a new console harness for cd.and swap the console parts from his.the sides and lid and vent tube.a new cd base was like 98.00 but 90% of the time they get to you broke.just make sure you order the correct harness for the current options heated rear seats etc.
