I was looking under the front of my truck and noticed a 2" vertical box welded to the frame. They are on both sides. I looks like a mount for something but I'm not sure what it's for. Maybe a front hitch? Anyone have any ideas?

They are on a lot of trucks. They are to prevent you from driving over a vehicle in the event of a crash.
