It really would be. It still wouldn't pull like a Cummins, but it would be a lot more enjoyable experience. I have no idea about the programming differences but with the 8 speed it tow haul mode it had so much engine braking you barely had to touch the brakes if you coasted up to a light. It actually would keep downshifting and slow you down. This truck doesn't do that which I find odd considering it is designed mainly for hauling and towing vs the 1500 built for comfort.

Mine down shifts when slowing, even when not in tow/haul.
