It really would be. It still wouldn't pull like a Cummins, but it would be a lot more enjoyable experience. I have no idea about the programming differences but with the 8 speed it tow haul mode it had so much engine braking you barely had to touch the brakes if you coasted up to a light. It actually would keep downshifting and slow you down. This truck doesn't do that which I find odd considering it is designed mainly for hauling and towing vs the 1500 built for comfort.

I got my new 3500 on Friday! Drove 6 hours to get it and another 6 hours back. Ended up getting 16.5 mpg driving the speed limit plus with it. Does any have a way to post a picture without a website?

1. Select the "Manage Attachment" button (paper clip).



2. Hit the "Choose File" button to search for the pic on your computer, and then hit upload.



3. Go back to your reply and select to put your pic into your post.

The truck has the black-out package so the emblems are black along with the 20" wheels. The truck has 4:10 axles! It's pretty quick, but not as quick as the 8 speed, 3:21 1/2 tons! This is a Laramie package with heated & cooled leather seats, heated rear seats, dual alternators, both rear cameras, and skid plate. No air suspension or sunroof though. Love it so far and will like it a lot more when towing next spring.

So probably 15 MPG if hand calculated. EVIC's are notoriously off on these trucks.

That's not bad if even so. I know many 3/4 ton & 1/2 ton trucks that wished it got that mpg!

I found a 2500 identical in Battle Creek Michigan, but it was $4K more.
