I installed a stereo I got at a yard sale and it works perfectly, but it'll drain the battery dead overnight for some reason. I'm fairly sure it's the stereo because I didn't have any trouble before I installed it. If it is the stereo what could the problem be? would I need to replace the stereo entirely or could it be a wiring issue somewhere?

Does it turn off with the key?

First thing i'd do is make sure the ignition wire from the truck is properly connected to the ignition wire on the radio, not the B+ terminal on the radio. From there, i'd be unplugging the radio and see if the problem stops.

The stereo does shut off with the key. as for the terminals are you talking about the wire harness?

Nope, I just installed the stereo into the oem speakers, the stereo has the wrong faceplate on it but it still works, could that be an issue?
