Going to order one of these:

I think: Ya I know that’s scary & here we go again.

I honestly do not know how much towing is going to get done with in the first year or for that matter the first 2 yrs with The Judge!

We sold our previous RV (Coach)! Waiting on the kids to graduate college before we jump into another $40-$60K investment. Kole graduates in May! Baylee still has a few years of PT school left. So maybe next spring (Coach Shopping).

By that time The Judge should at least have 2000 miles on her.:party52:

Anyway: I figured @ 10K Miles I could at least take her out for a short ride bring her back and use this piece of equipment to suck out all the ATF out of the pan.

Then refill with fresh ATF! Do this @ the 10K & 20K mile mark until I reach the 30-35K mile mark.
Then I can drop the pan replaced with a new aluminum pan and refill.

Yes this is probably way overkill but in my mind it’s preventive maintenance, which is never bad.
Plus I’m bored as hell I want to do stuff to the New Ram.

That looks pretty cool , and no air compressor or electricity needed !

I have an air operated brake bleeder that i use ,but it requires an air compressor and is only a 4 qt capacity ...

I know everybody within these walls probably gets tired of hearing about my uncle but he is the one who shares a lot of his info with me about camping & 5th Wheels as well as boating.

He was one of the main reasons I pursued the three-quarter ton 6.7L CTD.
He actually recommended this product to me until I see it fit to purchase new aluminum transmission pan with the drain plug to make service really easy.

He actually still uses this product to suck out the ATF from his transmission pan instead of crawling under the truck and using the drain plug.
He’s just a little too old to be under the truck any longer. This hand pump takes about 10 minutes to suck everything out of the pan and refill total time probably a half hour. (Maybe a bit longer if you want to sit for a spell and enjoy a cold beer & admire your Ram).

Like he has always told me the transmission is the weakest link in these trucks.
He would rather spend more time servicing the transmission with this pump then changing the oil.
Just replacing 1/2 the ATF every so often in our opinion is piece of mind. Especially if you tow often & for long periods of time!
With that said we do totally understand we still have to drop the pan & change the filters every 35-50K miles. (That is a No-Brainer)!

Side note: I am not a fan of Facebook at all.
But I have a Facebook account just to keep in close touch with relatives that I don’t see very often or speak to. They wanted me to get an account so they can keep up with the kids.

I made the mistake of Requesting to be added to a couple of Cummins groups. Holy Cow what a band of drama queens these turned out to be.
With that said there was more posts: ******** about the 68RFE then I could withstand.
I guess most don’t understand you delete your truck you add 150hp & 250 foot pounds of torque (Extra) and you expect the stock transmission to hold up?
The IQ level is not very high.

Anyway We’ve discussed it and is just better off we keep fresh fluid in the transmission at all times if possible and drive it like a civilized human being and hopefully the cards fall our way. So far Uncle has had zero issues and he tows most of the time.

OK I’ve said all I need to say I do apologize RLK for drooling all over your thread.

Oh that sucks! I actually left the old one in mine because I could see myself messing it up. Thankfully mine was still soft and pliable.

I'm not 100% sure you can get just that seal by itself....

Well today I decided to drain and refill my xsmn fluid a second time in an attempt to get all Redline C+ in the system .
About 8,500 on this fill.

I was doing other maintenance so I was up on the ramps ... Which led to only 7qts drainable as oppose to the normal 8 1/2 - 9 qts with my Mag-Hyteck pan .

Almost Zero metal on the magnetic drain plug !!

Sendining off a sample to Blackstone Labs .

Ok, I know this about the 65RFE, but I'm looking for some input on differential gear oil. I got an Auburn LSD put in and Auburn recommends conventional 80w90 with the additive. I have 75w140 synthetic Redline with the modified already in it. I hear a bit of chatter from the LSD now around 1500 RPMs. You think going with the Redline will eliminate or should I stick with the conventional they recommend? I heard the differential in these trucks run hot which is why they call for 75w140. Any thoughts?

I used the Redline 75W-140 GL-5 Differential oil in my OEM .355 LSD rear end with great results .

This thread has lots of info about Differentials and oils and a good place to post up that type question .

Hope this helps !

Go to post #1 and you'll see how I checked for chatter , I didn't have to add any friction modifiers as the Redline GL-5 has it already [emoji1303]

I guess I'll be going with the Redline, thank you sir. I just didn't want to put it in and get chatter, then have to dump and put in the cheaper stuff with additive. Much appreciated.

Right after you fill it up with the new Redline Differential fluid I recommend going to a large parking lot and do serveral tight turns right & left with music off and widows open , if your LSD cluch plates are going to chatter they will do so at this point [emoji1303]
On the Redline bottle it does say if you have chatter to add their friction modifier . I know several guys on the forum that has used Redline and had no chatter as Redline has the modifiers in their GL-5 Fluid already[emoji6]

Good luck Sir !
