I just wanted to let you guys know if your ever working on a 81 and you can't seem to find rotors to fit.

Dad went to autozone and got rotors for his 81 wouldnt fit tried another pair still wouldnt, went to O'reillys they wouldnt fit. I for shits and giggles grabbed a spair 93 b250 rotor I had and it fit perfectly.

His truck was built in june of 81, we ordered brake rotors for a 82 and they fit fine.

they may fit but a 93 and 81 have different bolt patters. sounds like you ran into the 3300lb vs non 3300lb front end problem. sounds like your 81 has the same 3300lb front end just like mine. the 3300lb front ends got same bearings as a 3/4, 1ton or something like that. i forget exactly what my parts store said when they looked up the number off the bearings that were on my truck.

I know they have a different bolt pattern 5x5 vs 5x4.5 I just did it to see if it would fit. His truck according to the door jamb has the 2600lb axle. The 82 2600lb rotors fit fine.

I am using the bearings that were already on his truck with the 82 rotors and it fits fine, the old bearings with the ordered 81 did not fit so I have no clue whats going on.

there is 2 different rotors for the older trucks. there it the truck with the 3300lb front axle and the trucks without. the only difference i noticed was the heavier duty inner bearing. i ended up paying $45 more for the correct rotor for my truck instead of buying a new bearing.
