Only reason i took mine out was the temperature issues i was having cause the installed a 185 degree thermostat. So i would go from 185 to 215 degrees and it would slowly fall . Except on highway it would climb to around 210 and stay there now its stays at a constant 185

Don't count your chickens as hatched quite yet, lol. It can take upwards of 500 miles for it to trip a code,if you make it past that mark, then you'll be good to go

Your tuner can deactivate the shutters via your custom tune.

Removed mine again yesterday. Didn’t move the arm. Just inserted a small bolt in the first hole where people on here are placing the screw. We shall see if I get a code. So far so good.

I just removed ALL of them except the two top and the two bottom shutters on each side.

if you leave these attached, the servo motor works as designed closing the top and bottom ones, so it never knows the other ones are missing.

I still have the 203 tstat, but range goes from 210 to 197.

No cel lights.

if you have a custom tune you can have your tuner disable them and still be CEL free.

I have a custom HF tune and Sean never said this was an option.

What's the advantage to removing / disabling the shutters?

It keeps your temps down while cruising at whatever speed they close. When they close your temps will rise up until they hit a certain point and then they will open back up to cool off and close right back.

Are you sure about this?
100% positive. By disable, that means you remove the system and they tune it out so it doesn't throw an error and you don't need the screw trick to trick the lever.

Sean did it for me after I asked. I don't think it was something they figured out how to do right away and you may have gotten your tune prior. Plus not everyone does it, or is concerned with it.
