Hi all.

Does the computer have to be updated after adding OEM fog lights to a 2010?

Thanks.

Programming with AlfaOBD
( thanks @1500ram12) ...

Reference:
** AlfaOBD
(for activating factory features yourself. See docs linked in OP)

------------------------------------

WARNING:
If you have the AlfaOBD tool, and want to try this (vs dealer activation), please read the AlfaOBD thread OP and enable data logging before you start.
None of the people that have used it for activating the fogslights on their own have had a problem, but proceed at your own risk!

AGAIN: Do this at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything that may happen to your truck as a result from performing these steps.

- Connect to your model year BCM (2018 & 19 classic still use the MY16-17 powerNet for now)...

- Select ... "Car Configuration Change"

Enable Foglights:
>> Select ... "Front Fog Lamps Output Present" = select "YES"

*This is actually the 'Ecu Config 01 - CBC Configurable Inputs/Outputs' section.

6/15/20 Update:
Looks like Alexei changed the menus around for enabling the Front Fog Lights... Used to be directly under the car configuration change menu but now you have to go down to the ...

CBC Config I/O - Connector A PIN 01 and Connector D PIN 13: Front Fog Lamps Output Present = YES

Fogs ON with high beams:
>> Select ... "Front Fog Lamp Dropout Enable" = select NO

* This is actually the "Ecu Config 02 - CBC Features" section.

I see that you said 2010, I am not 100% sure if it’s the same thing, but here’s a thread for 2013+ trucks...

Yes. If you added the headlight switch w/fogs, jumper harness and fogs you'll have to have either the dealer add the sale code LNJ (if I remember right) or possibly alfaobd can. But you'd have to check out the alfaobd 06-12 thread.

I have the bumper with fog lights and wiring already installed.

Is the wiring already in place on the truck to plug the bumper into?

Thanks!

Ram stopped pre-wiring trucks for fogs in the early 2000's. 09-12 fog light jumper harness will have 2 wires with pins that go into a connector under the fuse box (tipm) then a group that gets connected to the a body ground. I can't find my write up I did on a 2012 and 2010 that I had but found this. Sourcing the fog light jumper harness looks like it may be a little hard. Did a quick search and wasn't having any luck.

09-12 is the same regardless if it's a 1500/2500/3500.

Isn't there a guy on here that makes that harness? M2 Mods, I think?

I know he makes one for 13+. You could reach out to him and see if it's something he could do.

I looked into adding fog lights on my 2010 and spoke with M2 mods. If I remember correctly, he doesn’t offer the harness for 2010. You would need to buy the factory dog harness...and it’s not cheap. then the dealer needs to turn on the sales code.
Your better off just running the fogs to a toggle switch inside the cab.

I can't even find one; did you have a source?

Hello all, I’m new to forums and I’m sure this has been covered before, I have a 2019 Ram Tradesman 3500, I want to add fog lights, the bumper has the blank inserts and my light switch has the fog light button that lights up when pressed, but I can’t seem to locate the wiring that would go to the bumper? any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
