Recently picked up the security bypass cable and downloaded AlfAODB to change
a few things but I’m having connectivity issues. Does anybody know if the Blue Driver OBD reader plays nice with AlfAodb? It recognizes the unit but I can’t connect. I have a 2018 2500 diesel.

Thanks!!

Do you know if blue driver obd is a elm327 based device with a 10400 or higher baud rate?

I beleive AlphaOBD only works with elm327 based devices and requires at least a 10400 baud rate.

I have OBD link MX bluetooth, and it connects quickly and flawlessly every time.

I’d just spend a few bucks and get the mx Bluetooth, it works flawlessly. Last thing you want to do is fight with connections when your trying to make changes to the bcm

On second thought, yea. Imagine losing the connection halfway through a program. That could be a di$a$ter.!!

If you haven't been on the alphaobd website here is the description for the readers that work

Yea, ive read it. Thats why i mentioned the OBD link MX, and asked the op about the elm327 and baud rate, as the site says some others will work, if they are elm327 based and have said minimum baud rate.

Granted, i didn't read it closely, but i didnt see the Blue OBD thing listed.

I have no idea about the rates. A lot depends on what you plan on doing I guess. Some people are using the cheap $15 elm327 readers off of eBay/Amazon without issues. I have a elm327 and a veepeak that I had bought just to use with torque pro and tried it with alphaobd just on small changes and has worked fine. But I did buy the obdlink mx+ and use that to make all my changes

The OBD Link MX rocks!

I replaced my bw44-44 transfer case with a bw44-45, and programmed it with the OBD Link

Activated my Mopar backup camera.

Set my foglights to work with high beams on.

It saved me lots of $$ and time not having to get the dealer to add sales codes.

Its just too bad i didnt have it when i put in the Mopar remote start and trailer brake controller.
