How many miles until the water pump and alternator fail on a V6? I have a 2018 Ram 1500 with 96K miles. I would like to replace these items before they fail, but not earlier than necessary. Thanks.

Just replaced the alternator on my V6 last week, 275k miles.

Full disclosure: it was on my 03 Tacoma.

Really though they all can last 200k depending on the life they lived, dealing with high draws from bad batteries or rough winters or sitting for long periods of time.

Wow, I had no idea they would last that long. I once had a 1995 Toyota Corolla and both failed around 67K miles.

Some of the early Pentastar had issues with alternators. My 2011 minivan with that motor had its alternator fail around 130K miles. I think the newer ones are less likely to fail though.
