I did it. Simple install. Just used brackets that came with light bar

This^

You can do it, but you'll either remove the blades individually or the whole system and modify the module to eliminate the CEL.

I have a 2014 with the active grille shutters. For years I have been reading about how there isn't a way to put lights behind the grille. I did some measuring yesterday and I think I can get lights in there. Ordered last night and if I can squeeze the time will attempt to mount this weekend. Trust that if they work I'll do a write up. I don't want to remove my shutters.

For years I have read that there is no way to get lights back there but I'm starting to think no one has actually tried. Installed these Hella 500FF's this weekend with no issue. Don't even have to drill the hole as there is one available with a speed clip in it. Active grill shutters were untouched. All went together way too easy.

I just don't like how the lights get defused behind the grill. I mounted lights there on my 3rd gen, looked really cool. But unlike a 4th gen, the 3rd gen grill would go up with the hood, it was amazing how much more light I had with the hood open.. I'm going to assume it's the same with the lights behind these grills..
