Brakes squeal

I have a 2014 RAM 1500. Whenever I drive on a roadway with any amount of dust, the brakes begin to squeal and continue until I hose off the rotors and pads with a garden hose. I have heard noticed similar RAM trucks with this issue. Why is this happening and how can I prevent it from happening?

Not sure what your brake pads are, but I've always had squealing issues with semi- metallic. Switched to ceramic years ago with no issues since.

Wagner oex, no squealing in general and no dusting. Even ceramics "can" sequel when wet, but they shouldnt squeal when dry. You can try and shave rotors or get new ones, but I'd go wagner oex first. If rotors look like a vinyl record with groves probably need to be shaved.

Get rid of semi metallic pads and go ceramic, way less brake dust and very very limited squeal.
