With this 2021 2500, protecting it from rock chips is a never ending battle. The paint is soft a marks easily from rocks, and the power broads have one major drawback compared to the full body length and cab length boards I have on my 1996. The power boards do not protect the rocker panels from rocks that are thrown off the front tires and aren't caught by the mud flaps.

I tired 3M film as protection, it does help, but it still is not tough enough to tolerate a steady diet of gravel roads. The runing boards I put on the box have helped a lot to curt down rocks being thrown forward by the rear tires.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the two products above.

The boards on my 1996 for comparison. They did a tremendous job of stopping rocks and debris from being thrown up onto the truck's paint.

Color me skeptical on adhesives holding up for very long but maybe I'm wrong. The molded plastic piece seems like it could be legit, the tape looks easy but unless you continuously add glue every spot that it starts to peel off, I can't imagine it lasting more than a year.

I had the Bushwhacker rocker guards on my 2018 1500 and they worked well at keeping the rocks from destroying the rockers. Just make sure any paint chips or scratches are fixed before they go on. Still thinking of doing these on my Mega Cab. Found a couple chips in mine that need attention before I look into these again.

The adhesive never separated on the ones I put on my 1500 and it had good coverage. I had a thread on it way back when.
