Just wanted to show off a little project I did while I was home, upgraded my radar from an old Escort radar.

The dash cam I installed sometime ago but due to time, I wasn't able to hardwire it until now.

The phone mount was a custom idea after researching phone mounts, the only real other option was the Bulletp***** mounts. I didn't really like the way they looked, and I could have some fun DIYing one.

Yes, those are wagos. I tried something new, I am always looking to add things to the toolbox of supplies. The wagos are still under trial, however I went on a 4,000 mile road trip and never had one issue regarding the power setup. I was really impressed with how well these worked, a huge time savings and about $1 a piece.

The radar and dash cam are mounted via a custom setup Blendmount. I ordered the radar mount from blendmount, and then I was able to order just the dash cam mount portion. Blendmount DOES NOT offer a dashcam / radar setup, so I had to improvise.

Trim down Valentine harness, all wires get ferrule connections are connected via Wagos. I've always wanted the tool to install ferrules so this was a lot of fun.

I purchased a wiring harness splitter off ebay, again going for a clean install. This plugs in where the USB / cig lighter outlets are and will provide switched 12v+ power.

From here on, everything got tucked down into the lower left of the center dash, just barely above the bottom of the dash, so I can replace any fuses... OR QUICKLY install another 12v accessory thanks to my Wagos. The radar and dash cam pull a combined draw of less than 2amps, this give me peace of mind as outlet circuit is protected by a 15 or 20 amp fuse. You may also noticed the fabric tape, it helps the wiring look cleaner and factory.

Now on to the phone mount, this consisted of 4 parts.

Originally the track mount was 9" long, I wasn't sure what size to order, and appeared online that it was easy to cut and modify to my exact length. I utilized a caliper to measure the holes exactly and then made my cut.

I applied some double sided tape to dampen vibrations and add some rigidity.

End result, currently running a dedicated android phone on a niteize mount while I decide how much I like the new custom RAM Mount setup. Which btw, 4000 miles were put on the truck after this install and everything performed great and exactly as expected.

How do you like the Blackvue at that height? I've thought of hiding mine behind the mirror too...
