CarPlay issues

I received my new 8.4 UConnect radio with CarPlay today. I hooked it all up and the CarPlay doesn’t work. It appears there might be an issue with the media hub, but not sure. The radio doesn’t always recognize my iPhone it’s weird. I’ve seen some people say the media hub might be the problem. Any advice would be great.

What year is your truck? Did you replace the media hub?

Also what kind of 8.4 Uconnect radio did you get. You used a very broad term. Is it an ra3, Ra4, UAS OR UAQ

the truck is a 2020.

The radio is a UAS.

Is screen mirroring option selected for your iPhone?

Also on your hub does one port show the usb symbol and the other port read “USB” or do both ports have the USB symbol.

The port does show up on screen and I’ve connected pandora through the it, however CarPlay has not.

I see your point but the 2020 Ram should have a USB port that is compatible with CarPlay. I’m just trying to figure out if the hub is bad.

I’d assume if 2020 truck still under warranty? Might be best to take it to dealer have them check it out.

Not all 2020 rams are CarPlay compatible. If they were then there wouldn’t be a point for you to upgrade your radio.

The radio is a UAS.

What radio did you have in your truck originally.... must have been a RA3 or RA4.

It’s a 2020. Most likely had a ra2 or I think it’s called a vp2 in the newer rams.
