I believe the nv4500 had a gas bell-housing for the 5.9 magnum in the 2500s in the 90s. The 5.2 and 5.9 has the same bell-housing. Not sure prior. I remember looking for one when I had my 97 1500 with a 5.2 magnum I was going to swap

thanks crazykid, I assumed it was just a matter of tracking down a compatible bell housing. I'd like to go NV4500 over the 3500 since it's considered a more HD transmission with only a 100 lb penalty. Ideally, 6 speed manual / Getrag would be best. I'm just wondering how hard it will be to track that bell housing down. This is my first major Mopar frame off project. didn't really recognize just how little support there is for the 72 + trucks. I guess not so popular compared to Ford and GM.

nsg370_3.7Lv6.jpg I'm a little fuzzy on what fits what too... but here's the bellhousing on a Jeep Liberty V6 (6spd NSG370). It may share patterns with 4.7 and 5.7.
