Hey Guys -

Looking to get my 5'7 truck bed Line-X'd. I've been doing some searching and Googling but haven't found anything super recent to base off from to see if the quotes I received are decent prices.

I was quoted $549 for the regular Line-X and $649 for the premium with UV protection. Are these in line or do they seem a little high?

Thanks!

That's on par with the prices around here in West Virginia.

I am planning on going with Bullet Liner. $350 to have the bed done here. Created by the guy that invented Line-X and supposedly a better product.

That's just a bit higher than here but in the ball park.

Quotes I got yesterday. Looks a little lower than others but still having a hard time justifying it to myself. May look into the DIY stuff.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comparisons. I really want to get it done so I don't have to worry about the bed getting all scratched up. But I also am having a hard time justifying the cost.

Scratch away. Then get it lined when you have the extra money to throw at it. Then your scratches will be gone.

I've done a number of the DIY ones. I will say you are basically messing up your truck with any auto parts store liner. IE, Duplicolor, Herculiner etc. That stuff is garbage.

I've done a few of the Raptor liner and this is good stuff. You'll need to know how to lay the stuff down that is for sure.

The SEM stuff is really good as well.

Defender I also had good results.

Again, this DIY stuff, isn't for you if you've never done spraying before.

Go with the Line-X - you'll be happy. Get the UV protection or you'll be smacking yourself in a few months.

You'll spend 4 hours prepping the bed
an hour masking
20 minutes spraying
and 20 minutes unmasking.

Here are a few pics of me doing a few liners to give you an idea whats involved.

What all does the UV protect from? Pealing and fading or just fading?

Bullet is not better than LINE-X. If you look at the technical data sheets, here are tear strengths:

Standard LINE-X (XS-100) - 490 psi
Bullet BL-1 - 400 psi

LINE-X Pro/Platinum (XS-330) - 750 psi
Bullet BL-71 - 550 psi

In addition, the owners of Bullet just sold Burtin Polymer Labs and Bullet Liner to a company called Accella. Accella makes the rubber bits that you find on running tracks.

I had two places quote me for line-x at around $650, don't remember exact price because it was absurd. $350 for the bullet not quite half but damn near close

You might want to check again. I've never heard of anyone paying $650 for standard black LINE-X. A color match is a different story. UV protected LINE-X is probably priced between standard and a color match.

Bullet (or any reputable bedliner brand) for $350 means they're spraying it the thickness of a piece of paper. 15 or 20 years ago, you could get a good bedliner for $350, but not anymore (thanks to the price of oil).

Plenty of reviews saying the stuff is legit and lots of guys on other forums swear by it. In fact I don't recall finding any negative reviews on it.

I think Bullet is very good brand! If there were no LINE-X around, I would go Bullet. Bullet is better than Rhino!
