I have a 14 crew cab sport with the 8.4 radio. I do not have the factory alpine stuff.

looking into purchasing some better door speakers. All 4 doors.

I do not want to add an amp or anything. Just plug and play.

crutchfield recommended the MTX terminator69 door speakers.

looking for advice or opinions on changing them out. Anyone have these speakers or can recommend a good door speaker with better bass, mids and highs?

I went with Infinity REF-9623ix series with Metra 72-6514 adapters
Probably the best plug and play mod I've done. But the dash speakers made the biggest difference. Don't forget sound mat while you have the door panels off

I went with JBL Club series in my 2014 CC. They were a great upgrade and don’t need an amp: they sound great just off the head unit. I replaced the 3.5” dash speaker and all the 6x9’s in all 4 doors.

Running Rockford fosgate T2 6.5” components in doors, tweeters in sail panel, and infinity kappa perfect 3.5” midranges in dash. All speakers are amplified. Sounds amazing.
3.5” dash midranges are closer to 4”...and fit perfect as long as you cut off one of the mounts. I tried the JL audio 3.5” and wasn’t impressed at all. These infinity midranges are the best dash speakers as long as you amplify them.

If you look, look for drop in 6x9 components, then you keep 6x9 and add separate tweeter in pillar.

Do any of you have the Alpine stock stereo? I’m not sure if just the amp or all of the speakers in my truck are amplified by it? I’m wanting better highs and some more bass but I HATE working with car stereos other than to replace the speakers.

The Alpine is a very different beast than the standard stock system. Do your research here before you buy anything.

Front door speakers cannot be deeper than 2 3/4" or they require a mounting bracket adapter. Rear doors can go deeper than 2 3/4", but I don't know the spec.

I got Pioneer TS-A6966 6X9's and they dropped right into the front doors, no adapter. Sound pretty good. Nice bass and clear sounding overall.

Well I pulled the trigger on the MTX terminator69 as they are a direct fit. Bought the adapter harness too. They will be here today. Hopefully the sound better than the standard OEM speakers.

Got the speakers and the harnesses for them. Very easy and quick install. Sounds pretty good. I expected a little more bass from them but not bad for the price.
