Unbeknownst to me, the V06 'repair' was completed on my 2018 prior to me taking ownership of it NEW from the dealer. I had no idea the recall was in place nor that the 'repair' was already done on my truck. Upon finding out on here, I looked underneath and saw that it had been welded. I went ahead and purchased the updated 2019 drag link assy and installed it myself.
FYI - I also submitted a reimbursement claim with FCA for the cost of the updated link and (2) nuts and I just received an email that my claim was denied. They feel the weld is sufficient and they are off the hook. I guess I'll just have to wait for the final findings of the NHTSA investigation at this point.
"Thank you for allowing RAM Customer Care an opportunity to address your concern. Our primary focus is your satisfaction.
Upon thorough review and consideration, we regret to inform you that your request for reimbursement has been denied due to to the recall was already completed and inspected by FCA dealership before you bought a part and installed by yourself.
As much as quality service is our concern, please be informed that there are certain guidelines and qualifications that we need to meet in order to grant your request.
Thank you for your utmost understanding. We look forward to your continued business with us, and we appreciate you reaching out to us today."
This clearly shows how concerned they are about my 'satisfaction'. 'Continued business'? That's funny too. At least I won't have to deal with their crappy welds during an alignment in the future.
