Keeps the exhaust gasses from going back into the intake and cycling back through the motor. Keeps the intake temps down and shows a few more HP to boot. Best thing for me is the ease of servicing the passenger side of the motor, just cleans it up.

Is there anything tricky about getting the part from te head off? I've removed it from the intake before during plug change.

Mario its just the two bolts on the head to pull off the sol. The clip in the back just slides up and off and the tube will come out. In Ryans pics you see a good view of the electrical connection with the red tab lock, that slips out then will unclip also.

Don't try it while the truck is hot, also have a couple socket extensions at hand to help with the lack of room, and don't lose the small thin metal gasket, you have to reuse it.

one other thing, if you get the billet one like I have, the plug on the intake reuses the stock gasket I believe. it also comes with a screw to tap into the intake manifold to hold it together, you can see the hole I'm the first pic, this WILL NOT WORK on our trucks. the hole does not lunge up with anything that it can tap into and the screw is to small. Mine has held up great over the last year grant it I don't drive down rattley roads either.

Worst case he could modify the stock tube like mine if he does not feel ok with the plug

The plug is in there solid. Has lasted a few full throttle runs. Just dont know how well it would hold up say offroading where its a wash board style road.

Yep, just pushed in, there is a rubber gasket on the end that holds it in place, the screw is more of a reassurance that it wont come out. Again, mines been on for over a year now with out any movement

Oh one more thing, I am sure you are already aware of this but, if you live in a state with an emission inspection, you will fail with the block off plate. If the egr does not read ready you will fail. So make sure you dont have to have the inspection (the not ready status can be fixed via custom tune) before you cut things up.

Can anyone verify if this will work on the 4.7? Or if I make one, besides cosmetic will it do anything? I know o asked this before but got mixed answers.

isn't the egr in a different spot on the 4.7? one that's not very easily accessible
