I have a 2019 Laramie 5.7 Hemi, 3:21 gears, eTorque. I have owned all the brands, always buy new. I am a small business owner with a fleet of trucks also. We have GMC Sierras with over 200k on them, still in daily service.. We have a F150 with 100k and a Nissan with 140k. We also have a 2019 Ram BIg Horn. Can I expect my Rams to give as much service?

I know of several guys and gals who have over 200,000 miles on their Hemis. I have a friend in Nebraska who has over 278,000 and it is still going strong. A lot depends upon how well one maintains them as well as how they are driven.

Absolutely.

My work car is an AWD Charger with the 5.7. 140k miles & nearly 5000 hours on the engine, 2000ish of which is idle time. No issues other than brakes, radiator and a CV axle. Oil changed every 5k with Valvoline 5w30. It’s had one CEL for the evap system and once cleared it hasn’t been back. Probably related to the cap less fuel fill.

My personal opinion is with MDS and VVT oil change intervals are very important on a vehicle that sees a lot of idle time. If you want to go above 5k with lots of hours, consider an oil analysis.

As another example of the durability and longevity of these engines, you can Google the used Dodge Charger police pursuit vehicles for sale. Many have well over 160,000 miles and tons of idle time but are still running fine. Many times they are retired because they got into a serious accident or the rest of the car simply wore out over time but the engine is still running strong. I previously purchased factory new police cars with the pursuit packages for a city, and the Charger durability was right up there with the Crown Vic - despite the fact the Ford has a 4.6L V8.

I met a guy who works construction for Chick Fil A and he runs each Hemi up to 450,000 before trading. He said it only takes about 5 years to hit those miles.

If you use Pennzoil Ultra 25.00 a 5 quart jug walmart.com chg every 5,000 miles. I think your good for 300,000 miles or better. If you miss a oil chg and be using a inferior oil. Lifters get vanish coated, and the little needle bearings start skating, eventually stopping the roller on the cam lobes. Then cam wear of just one cam lobe, means a camshaft, timing chain, and set of lifters at around 130,000 miles.

Nissans are Gold, because the haven't updated them since like 2003/4 and back then the tech was simple. You can order a blackstone kit, they send you a kit for free, you take a sample send a 28 dollar check, they send you a report. If you have any mileage over 35k this will let you know if you have a wear problem. Cams and Lifters are the weak point, knowing this it is good to develop a good lubrication strategy that includes using a high moly oil. I'd say hemi's are middle of the pack as far as reliability, not the best and not the worst. I would be diligent on your interval, the hemi isn't something you want to abuse as far as lubrication goes. I'd say with hemi's if you hit the 130k mile mark, you have a good one and likely it will go 400-500k or more. The Cam issues seam to happen most 75-120k miles.

My brother-in-law has an '06 Magnum. Has the 5.7, 301,000 miles. He isn't all that particular about maintenance, just the regular stuff. Body and frame are pretty well rotted out, but the drivetrain is fine. Biggest expense over those miles was an EGR valve...
