So recently I was at a car show and had the hood up and then I realized that I may need to do a little work under the hood. My first step I think will be to add some half covers. I located some that I like and I believe that there is a bit of modification needed to install them on our RAMS. The are rebadged Challenger covers that are made for the 5.7. I was wondering if anyone has installed simular ones on their truck and if so how much work was required to install them.
These are the covers I am thinking about.

Those look good! I'm liking what you have done under the hood. All those bits and pieces would work perfectly on my truck :favorites13:

They look good, I may have to look into them as an option. I looked at 3G and i'm assuming that the Challenger covers fit our trucks.Where did you get the colored hoses?

So I have located half covers and plenum cover at American Car Craft. They fit the 5.7 hemi in Challenger and 300C and when I contacted them to ask if they knew if it would fit a 5.7 Ram they said they did not know. Does anyone know if the engines are the same or if with some minor modifications I could make the covers fit?

Here are the covers:

It would be nice to know what parts are interchangeable between the 5.7 engine and fuse box ETC under the hoods.

Just because it's the same engine doesn't mean it's the same layout. For instance. The throttle body on the first link has the opening facing forward where as our rams (4th gen) the throttle body is facing straight up. Plus the valve covers may be different so they might not fit regardless.

That's a lot of $$$ to spend modifying something to fit.... just go with the 3G customs. They will look great with your vararam!

I contacted them yesterday and asked about the finishes as I saw a chrome finish that I liked, however, they don't do chrome any more. It may still be the way to go and just get them painted or powder coated if I can find someone around here to do it.

So I have been doing a lot of reading about the 5.7 Hemi. It would appear that the Ram hemi is the same as the Challenger and Charger except for the intake faces upward, different exhaust manifolds, different oil pan and finally the transmission dip stick and tube. Other than that they are the same engine, so the covers half covers should fit but the plenum likely won't fit.

Well after a while of sitting on the fence and trying to decide on which covers to go with, I finally decided to buy the 3G Customz one, bought them yesterday. I'm looking forward to getting them but then I will have to decide what it want to do to them before installing them. It will involve paint and decals but not sure of the exact setup as of yet.

I plan to go another route when I can find a set to cut up.... I want a set of Vintage Red Ram Hemi covers to make it look like a vintage motor to cover the coils... I will make a wire loom to simulate a plug wire using each wire going to each coil...

Those are pretty cool, they will look great once installed. I finally decided and ordered a set from 3G, looking forward to getting them.

They will need to be massaged to fit, will take alot of work. Was thinking of buying some repops and testing the fab and fit to make them work... ive been searching fir a pair of tge red ram covers but they either want too much or wont separate from the whole motor
