My 2005 dodge ram with 5.9 cummins @ 135k miles is starting to leave a black sooty mark on my driveway at start up. Any ideas what is causing this? Turbo maybe?
Any help appreciated.

Any new diesel trucks in the area? Have you been talking or thinking about a new truck?

Or may be dirty and/or sticking injectors. Try a gallon of Opti-lube XPD at the recommended dilution. It is an excellent cleaner/ lube. Only fuel additive I would use.

chri5k, nope, no new trucks in the hood, and I would never even think of another truck! Thanks for the input, seems like an easy thing to try.

I don't need it yet, but i will keep it in mind

Opti-Lube XPD Formula Diesel Fuel Additive: Quarts (1 Quart (Treats 128 Gallons))

Visit the Opti-Lube Store

I use there Summer blend with Oregon mandated Bio to be used I have no need for an additive with extra lube, I would prefer their Boost additive but it does not remove water...
