Had to post, driving big Red today and it was a great day to be driving the RAM. Driving back from the east coast to Montana. Beautiful day in North Dakota. Ram performed flawlessly for over 800 miles today. Higher speed and great fuel economy with me, the wife and dog and about 600 lbs of crap in the bed.

Cool.

I've never been to Montana or the Dakota's or anywhere "upstate" as they say where I reside.

It must be nice not having any "bug splatter" on your windshield on the open highways ... driving just six miles on the highways in Louisiana in the summer time and you gotta pull over and clean the splattered bug guts off the windshield and hope that the mosquitos, flies, spiders, snakes and 'gators give ample time to clean them off before being considered dinner ... and it ain't a good idea to just give a squirt of windshield washer fluid with a few swipes of the wipers ... that'll most definitely ruin any type of view that previously was there.

All those empty spaces are mighty appealing (especially the lack of people) but I don’t know about trading gators and mosquitoes and such for bears and wolves. It gets pretty cold and windy up there too unlike down south.

Looks beautiful, what kind of MPG a you pulling on a trip like that, I certainly see the lower rpm difference with the 3.21. Mines at 2,000 I believe or a hair more at 70mph.

Great pictures and post.

JH - Add a few good squirts of Dawn or Lemon Sunlight dish soap to your washer fluid. You won't believe what a great job it does of washing off the bug guts and grease. It smells nice too.

Temps look reasonable too, considering U running 83 mph. Run that speed here at 110-120 heat index, and watch the temps soar just a bit more, LOL. May explain why I do not run my 6 cylinder motorcycle in the middle of the day.

I mix with a one gallon of water a tablespoon of Maguires Ultimate Wash & Wax and a tablespoon of Arm and Hammer baking soda mixed in an one gallon clean milk jug and pour that mixture into an one gallon hand pump sprayer.

I soak the front end down, including the windshield/mirrors and let it set for ~ twenty minutes and hose off with a spray nozzel. Then I pour some of this mixture onto a wash mitt and wipe things down, with another spray of water for the rinse.

Then for drying, I use my battery operated shop/leaf blower ... If necessary, a micro fiber towell for any left over water residue, the leaf blower usually does a good job removing all of the water.

I've used this same method for washing/drying my HD(harvey-donaldson) ... I picked this method/tip up from my first long distance bike ride to Milwaukee back in 2003.

* Baking soda dissolves bug acids without harming clear coats/paint, etc.

Consistent 17s. Several 19s when I could get real gas. No 16s unless I was in the 90s.

Back when I was a young man, driving an 18 wheeler, I went to Montana one time. I immediately understood why they call it Big Sky. I noticed the speedometer at 85 mph. What ever state you were in, send them the amount of the fine. You bad boy.

Was only 3 over the posted limit. No fine necessary

Googone is cheap and worked for me. If you’re more selective, Griot’s Garage also has a remover and a “barricade” you spray on after washes to make removal easier.
