Hey all I've got a 2013 Ram Outdoorsman, 5.7
I've got a anit freeze smell inside the cab, it smells faintly at first start for just a bit but seems to go away after awhile, I changed the thermostat to a 203 temp, and now it takes longer to get heat, I have no noticable leaks and the carpet under the heater core is not wet, I've run out of ideas. Any Help wood be appreciated.

Heater core may just have a verry small leak it happens best way to tell is put DYE in the system then use a UV light look for leaks outside if none then get a small cheap cam from amazon and remove the blower motor take a look at heater core.

Back when either Chrysler or FCA was running the show, cheap Chinese hoses, chemically had a reaction that was bad, when antifreeze got heated up..
More recently, some Ram owners think that the smell is coming from the Coolant System Recovery Tank, after all, the tank has a unsealed lid ??

You might close the Fresh Air Inlet, recirculate the air in the cab.

Another thing to filter the air, is to install a Cabin Air Filter, if you do not already have one.
Ram did not begin installing them until January 2016 at the Assembly Line
