So did an oil change a couple of days ago nothing out of the ordinary , just noticed red paint or something on my hands . Figured it was opening the bottles of oil or handling tools etc.

Today , checking oil dipstick level and noticed a discoloration inside the oil filler cap. Wiped the neck of the oil filler cap and blue paper towel came out red. Got my UV light out and the dam thing glowed. ****** LOL.
Remembered on Wednesday prior to my oil change that I did a couple of days ago the dealership stated that they added dye as I mentioned drip from tranny , advisor said they added dye to tranny. Obviously not!

Pics for your enjoyment. / Entertainment purposes.

You probably have the 8 speed tranny and it has no dipstick or fill tube. The dye was added to your engine oil. Ask the dealer to show you how they added the dye.

The advisor said they added dye to the tranny. But I'm sure he meant to say engine as it's in the engine. Lol.

I did find it odd that they would add dye to the tranny since the stock 8hp70 has dye already in the fluid from factory from what I've read.

The tech probably thinks it's engine oil drip which I know it is not. Since my engine oil was black and the leak is light yellow gold colored. Now unsure as to whether to tell them to re add dye as I removed most of it by the engine oil change I did .

Yeah...you end up having to do that. Same with flashing your PCM and TCM with the same update. That's what FCA tells them to do to insure no conflicts between the electronic boxes. It makes sense but sometimes the things they do make you go...

hmmmm....

Yeah, but I am glad I realized this before opening my mouth. Just let them do their procedures .. No worries I say.:)

But slightly off topic, did you read my tpms thread? It was weird that they must have somehow enabled my tpms system to work temporarily even with no sensors present I think!

A little joke that almost took made me pass out, when I initially wiped and oil filler neck and noticed red residue on the paper towel, for a split instant of a second I thought that maybe perhaps I put in ATF fluid in there HAHAHAAH
