Anyone ever do this? Paying like 500 new or 250 used for something to literally be used as a floor for my dog to stand on seems like a bit much. I have a 2015 1500 crew cab and figure this could be made with some joins and plywood. Even if it does not bolt to the inside and is something I can insert when I need it and remove when I don't, should not take long at all.

If everything I am saying is completely wrong, please tell me before I start.

I agree 100%, thats why I couldn't pay Bushwackmeoff $550. for plastic fender flares. Take precise measurements and you won't even have to secure it. Gravity works. I made one years ago out of plywood (top) and 1x pine board sides & front framework. I later put carpeting on it so my dog didn't slide around on the plywood, he hated that bigtime. :) Cost was about $6. for the beer needed.

I wouldn't think building One would be terribly difficult. A couple hinges, some wood, carpet and a few hours of work

I built one for my quad cab a while ago, but I seem to have deleted the pictures and it’s in storage somewhere. I’ll see if I can find the pictures.
