Hey Guys,

Going to lift my truck with a Zone kit using 5100's to level it out. I am trying to decide if I should go 4" or 6".

There is basically no difference in cost, so the 6" seems like the way to go to have no regrets. However I have 3.55's and will most likely stick with 35" tires.

My real problem comes to winter time, where I am going to run winter tires in stock size on the stock rims.

I know they will look super small, since 35" are kinda borderline. But it is the winter so should I care?? Anyone else doing this? I live in Canada and the winter tires will be on from like November-March ish. I don't want to go with a 6" and hate my truck for literally half the year.

Anyone have any thoughts?

IMO- it will look silly, I had a 6" lift with 35's and I wouldn't run anything smaller. What kind of tires do you have? You can run em year round if they're anything but an aggressive m/t.

Yeah I kinda thought it would look silly as well. I already have 35" Toyo MT's (just looking for rims I like, and a lift) and 265/70 17 winter tires. So I do want to run what I have.

4" wont look to stuffed with 35's and maybe my winters wont look as silly. Hmmmm.

Here's my 5" lift with stocks. My 35's have been on order for 2 months now -_-

I don't think it looks bad though. Deffinitly would look better with larger tires but for now it's not bad!

I don't think that looks silly. But like you said, for now its not bad. Except I would be coming back to that look each year haha.

I have oversized 35s, i believe 315/70/18. I think mine look good and i wouldnt go any smaller though. I have a 6" zone with 5 rear and bilsteins in front.

Really it depends if you care what other people think but yeah those winter tires will look really small.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Still somewhat undecided but leaning to the 4" 3" rear and leveled.

Id go with the 4" if I were you. 35's on a 4" on these trucks looks perfect imo. Plus it wont look to bad when ya go to smaller winter tires. Good on you for going to winters.

I have the Zone 4"F/3"R with Bilsteins set at 0.7" and have about 1-1/4" of rake. You can set em at 1.4" and you'll be damn near level. I just put my factory wheels and 285/60R20 Silent Armours back on for the winter, and it looks pretty silly. I can't imagine if I had a leveled 6" lift with factories. Pretty sure the other trucks would make fun of mine . . . Lol. I go back to factories for the winter because I don't want to ruin my Dropstars in these crappy Ohio winters.

Why not just run GY Duratrac's in 35" all year? Seems that would save you a lot of hassle.

For me, it's a matter of not wanting to run my aftermarket wheels thru crappy Ohio winters . . . Nothing to do with the tires

Keep your eyes open, you can find a cheaper set to run the winter tires on and still have the nice look.
