What exactly warrants for a salvaged title?

Truck was totaled by insurance company. Some one bought it and fixed it. They then couldn't sell it with a normal title. They had to get a salvage title to reflect the total and the fix.

Yes. Could be totaled for many reasons. Like flood damage, accident, etc

Airbag deployment will also "total" a truck if I'm not mistaken

The '99 QC I had a from 2007 until just a couple months ago had a salvage title for the last couple years after a 400 pound tree branch landed on the roof - cost of the roof skin replacement exceeded the value of the truck. Bought it back after they "totaled" it and drove it until last year when the suspension, rear passenger door, driver seat, power steering pump AND steering rack, along with the brakes all failed within a few days of each other (I drove that truck to hell and back a few times and it never hesitated).

Not automatically, but many times the added cost of the air bag replacement will tip the scale.

I just purchased a 99 club cab with a salvage title but I'm not sure why,I'll have to research that. I know it was salvaged in 2002 with 20,000 miles so I assume damage was pretty major but it now has over 120,000 so I'm not really afraid of it. I own an olds BravadA that was totaled shortly after I purchased it for frame dAmage,I bought it back from the insurance company and actual got it paid off.fixed and put a few bucks in the bank and it hasn't given a bit of problem in 9 years.at Least not accident related LOL so in my opinion if the work is done right it's ok

My 2000 reg cab short bed 1500 4x4 Laramie is a salvage. Bought it after it was bought and rebuilt by a family member. Front right impact which diamonded the frame. Had 65000 on it when I bought it for a good price for me. Only had a few normal problems such as rust and 4wd actuator I replaced with the posi-lok cable system and of course normal wear and tear. But I'm now looking to get it back in nice cosmetic condition and doing some mods and replacing parts as needed.

There's a used car lot that has an 06 or 07 for sale that was a salvage vehicle. Think he's asking $26000!? It's a 2500 megacab cummins. I'd love to have it but there's no way I could afford that.
