Our 2018 Big Horn RAM 1500's backup camera has a small dirt speck INSIDE the clear lens cover. The 70 mph winds we encountered camping in southern New Mexico this week doubtless put it there... now what?

Can that clear lens cover be popped off, cleaned then popped back on? Retired computer repair tech so I have non-metallic tools, but don't want to dive in without checking here first.

TIA

Good luck, I just tore my 2017 2500 Laramie's back-up camera out to see if I could get rid of some moisture in the lens... It didn't appear possible with the way they make them... so I had to just order up a new one and install it... Here is the updated part# in case you go down the same route (#68274731AE). I just got mine on ebay for $200

Many tailgate camera lenses can NOT be disassembled to clean the back of the lens

All camera lenses are designed to be mostly air tight for this very reason.
Dirt, Dust, Mold are lens killers.

Use compresed air to blow around the glass and see if you can move speck out of the way.
Then try to seal the area where you think the air got through to move the speck.

or replace the lens.

I disassembled mine and tried to swap some parts with an ebay knock off. I ended up ruining both and had to buy a new one. That said, yes they can be disassembled, its just some tiny screws.

I agree with the compressed air idea, or even one of those air dusters for computers.

If the air doesn't work, you could take the camera out and try to unscrew the lens; The majority of the BC's I've used over the years, the lenses or lens covers were removable.
