yes you do want your ground to be short, but in this case the op was trying to temporarily hook the stuff up to show that it works because he wanted to sell it...LOL

ok, now that makes sense with why he was talking about bringing it back to the battery. I'll do what blackedoutHemi mentioned and I may take it a step futher and bolt it directly to the frame if it's not too difficult. I did this with my last system but I was drawing alot more power so it may not be as necessary since I'm only going to run one amp and it should be more efficient since its a digital amp (JL audio xd)
