Ordered the direct fit Magnaflow muffler for my 2500 from Mufflex, and got it installed today. I really wanted some additional sound that wouldn’t blow me out of the cab, and so far I love it! Startup is a nice deep tone, without the rasp of a muffler delete. Cruising speed is very mellow in the cab, and it is throaty under acceleration. The big test will be Thursday, when I hitch up the camper. Also, I left the resonator in place.

I get some drone with mine under a bit of a load in the 1750 to 1800 rpm range

I put the Solo MR400 muffler on mine and left the resonator, hardly notice it at all when driving or towing.

So far I'm enjoying mine as well on my Classic 1500. Neighbour friendly! I also left the resonators.

A dude 5 houses from me has a muffler delete probably no resonators and he wakes the whole freakin' area. I didn;t want to be THAT guy. If I move back to the country side, then maybe. :D

So far, zero drone. Towing the camper tomorrow, so that will be a great test.

Had a nice tow today. Muffler is very quiet at hwy speeds with zero drone at all. Engine doesn't seem to work as hard, holds higher gears longer, this tow just took less effort. So far, I am thrilled!

Nick # GT Exhaust sez the Solo 400 has less drone, in case you end up not liking Magnaflow while towing. I was gonna put one in, then decided I'd do LT Headers instead, now I'm getting cold feet about the whole exhaust system. It's all such a PITA for just 10% more torque. Engine Air intake & tuner was simple, as was trans oil thermostat delete and better tires.

Thinking about one of the Magnaflow systems. Had a custom pipe set up on my '99 with a Magnaflow muffler and really liked the sound. Even after 10-15 years, it sounded better than my '17 6.4L. Just on the fence about which, and like you not looking for a ton of noise. I'll keep considering that setup, thanks! Looking forward to clips if you get them up.

I just had the direct fit magnaflow installed today. I have the 5.7 and I gotta say, it’s perfect. Low rumble when you’re on the gas. Sounds great at start up. A little bit of drone when it goes into eco and I’m cruising at 45-55. Otherwise, it’s the way to go. It’s not loud. Deep and low so you know it’s there and it sounds like a hemi. Got mine from nick@gotexhaust.
