Nice :) What happened to the original motor? Didn't look too bad for 217...

Yea and what's up with this new one? Any upgrades to it or just a stock motor going back in?

Original motor just had some light smoke and burned a little bit of oil. Still ran great. As far as the newer motor. It's an 06 Rt charger longblock. I put the 6.1 springs and pushrods with a comp 268 cam :). I found out also. There is a small spacer in the end of the crank that HAS to be removed before installing into a truck because the rt nag converters input shaft is smaller. The truck converter would not fit. I ended up having to pull the transmission to find that out. Lol

Anyone out there know a good tuner that will do work on the side. My guy is taking. FOREVER to get bAck with me and I'm getting frustrated. I just don't have a lot of money to spend. And I understand yes tuning is a pain but I really could use some help. My guy charges me 100 bucks, he's tuned vehicle for me before Wich is why he's so cheap for me. But please let me know if u guys know anyone. I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I'm curious to see how well that 268 gets tuned on that 03 PCM lol.

Do you think the old motor had bad rings? Could have just been valve guide seals for like $20-30.

It's been a pain so far this thing does NOT like to idle lol. But we are getting there. It idles normally now, it dies every so often at a stop sign mainly if I'm turning. It's been interesting to say the least. Doing some more logging tomorrow. The only issue I'm having besides the dying at a stop is having a "system too rich" code from the PCM.

I don't think the rings were bad, it ran perfectly, just smoked a tiny bit when it started up. I'm gonna end up just selling the motor that came out of it. I have some gaskets for it and some valve seals. But at this point it could just use a good refreshing and cleaning.
