I have a 2011 Ram 1500. I've read many posts about LED cargo light problems. What I'm having a problem with is this... when I unlock my truck both cargo lights light up very bright, as they should. They then dim down to where they barely glow. Then one of them shuts completely off while the other one glows. So when I'm driving at night only one of the lights glow. Whenever I push the button in the truck to turn cargo lights on, they both work and are bright. But when they dim and glow only one works. It's very confusing and I can't figure out why. So when I get out of my truck, and lock the doors one light glows for abiut a minute until it goes off while the other one never glows. Any help would be great!

Just from my experience I would recommend trying completely new bulbs. I have experienced this as well.

I'm not sure exactly why it does it but when I put completely new bulbs in it didn't do that anymore.

Ran into this problem on my 2012 Single Cab. Both cargo LED lights would glow dimly for 5-10 minutes and then shut off properly. The fix was to solder small resistors (100 ohm I believe but I don't exactly remember the specs, attached a picture of one below) onto the positive/negative tabs of the lights and they worked properly. For whatever reason, the same LED bulbs with no resistors work properly on my 2013. :wtf2: You might try some resistors or, like Rzr said, new, higher quality bulbs.

Only one of the bulbs is causing a problem. I thought the bulb messed up so I already replaced it with a new bulb and it is still doing the same thing.

On my 2014, I used some higher quality bulbs and have not had any issues.

If your not worried with them glowing all the time they'll be fine left like that.

I left mine in there for months like that before I got new leds to replace them. No issues besides the glowing aspect.

Just fyi.
