hey guys, some of you might know me from my 2nd gen build of big red but havent been on here in a long time. just pulled the trigger a few weeks ago on a 17 ram 1500 big horn so ready to let the fun begin again! :)

interested in buying a 4-6in lift for the truck but wondering what all are you guys running, how much did it cost and best place to buy it.

looking forward to hearing peoples opinions. here are a couple pics of my 2nd gen and the new ram

I have a 2017 Ram express 4x4. I am planning to do a Zone 4" lift with 2" spacers and Fox shocks in the rear, and Zone UCA's (for peace of mind), and running 35x12.5 tires. I'm ordering my kit from LiftKits4Less.com. With a military discount, the kit will run me $1,382. I found Zone UCAs on CARiD.com for $395. The tires will run me about $1,022. Labor to install everything and the alignment will run me $900. So for all of that, I'll be paying ~ $4099. I'm military so I'm waiting for the government to figure out a long term budget before I pull the trigger on getting everything done.

Fender measurements:
Before: Front 36.75 and Rear 39.5 (2.75 rake)
After: Front and Rear both at 46.25

Parts List:
1. BDS Suspension Lift 6” front with optional 5” rear coils P/N 671H.
2. Zone Offroad Heavy Duty Upper Control Arm kit P/N D2301.
3. Bilstein 6112 60MM front struts with coils set @ 2.60” P/N 47-242548.
4. Bilstein 5100 46MM rear shocks P/N 33-185569 w/superlift 77-80038.
5. KMC XD-832 Wheels 20X9 -12mm offset 5x139.7 Hubcentric Satin Black
6. Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 37X12.50R20 P/N 33337 (76.7 LBS).

Bilstein 6112's front strut coilovers were $572/pair on sale IIRC, the BDS Lift with UCA's installed/aligned etc. was $3200 plus tax so I'm in this for about $4k not including tires/wheels etc.

I got my 4” Superlift for $1078 dropped to my front door from Autoanything, got it installed and aligned for $540 so I was at like $1600 and change total!

I think Superlift has their 4” and 6” for something like $1400

hmm might have to call them, when i looked at their website it only listed superlift for 3500 trucks and not a 1500. how is your ride quality?

Before the discount just the kit was $1536. If you are on the page long enough before adding it to your cart, a window will pop up with a 10% discount code (same percentage for military) and it'll bring it down to $1382. The zone UCAs are what's brining up the cost of my kit a decent amount though; most people from what I've read and asked are fine without them, or only spending $100 on mevotech UCAs, but I wanted the peace of mind - that was worth the extra $395 to me.

I and a few others snatched up the kits when Autoanything was running one of those 30% off deals and it includes big ticket items like lifts, was too good a deal to pass up. Check out Superlift site, they might even deal if you call or email them.

As far as ride goes, it rides great IMO. The rear suspension geometry is near stock which is a BIG DEAL on coil spring rears, but truth be told, your tire selection will have the most impact on ride quality, HANDS DOWN!

Paid 1550 for my zone 6" with 5" rear coils shipped to my door. Picked it up from a memeber/sales guy that used to be on here (fastnugly). And another 760 to have it installed with alignment. Bils were ~200 from autoanything. So aprox 2500 without wheels and tires.

On liftkits4less.com, I discovered that the 6" lift costs the same as 4", and I found that the 37" tires for the brand I'm looking at are actually less than the 35" tires I was looking at before. Might as well get the bigger lift!

I would love going the bigger lift with 37's but my dad just traded in for a new truck and kept the 35's that we had just bought a few months ago so was thinking of running those on this truck. The other thing that would worry me about going bigger was this truck only has the 3.21 gears. Is anybody else running with those gears with the 37s? Also would 35s look weird if I went with the 6in lift? My other truck sits on 38s but I have it regeared with 4.56
