I have a 2012 Dodge ram 1500, I'm wanting to take and raise the front of the truck to match the back which is roughly about 2.5"-3" everybody has a different height amount it seems. But I am told that if I take and use bilstein adjustable front struts that I can raise the front to match the back just by replacing the strut. Is this true, and if it is true how likely are you to recommend doing it. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Bilstein 5100's would work but you can only raise the front end so far with them before you have some upper control arm issues.

As chopperman1 said there are lots and lots of threads on installing them.

To directly answer your question, the bilstein's are the recommended and preferred method of "leveling" your truck. Search button will answer all of your other questions pertaining to this.

The Bilstein will absolutely accomplish what you are looking for. The best deal I have found on them is to buy them individually on Amazon, don't buy a bundle of 2 they charge more for some reason.

$189.92 for 2 individual vs $202.08 for the 2 bundled both have free shipping so save yourself 12 bucks

Thanks to everyone for the help now I have a second question, I have done research on the bilstein 5100's I like the fact that its a do it yourself level kit that doesn't cost and arm and a leg to do but, on the other hand I have done research on strut spacers as well and people are saying that you can accomplish the same look for a quarter of the price just by adding a simple strut spacer so whats the pros and cons of strut spacers so far I have yet to read anything negative about them and that they are just a simple and affordable to use as the bilsteins. This is the product I have found. Its cost is $38.95 and its a 3" strut spacers-l1600.jpg

You get what you pay for...In this case $38.95 will get you a rebuilt front end, and a crappy ride. However, it will achieve that "look" you are after.

The most common and correct way to do it is with the 5100's. You can use the spacer on the back but the front needs the 5100's. If may pay less getting the spacer for the front but in the long run it will most likely cost you more.

Read this It will answer all your questions: Btw it was in the lifted section of the forum as a sticky.... We ask you to search so we can limit the amount of duplicate threads :)
