Any one here running a Mopar crate 7.0 426 stroker. in a 3rd Gen truck? Looking at buying one for my 05 Daytona. Is there a better option for the money. Thank you for your input and opinions.

If you are already working with HHP, I would just let them build a 6.1 based 426 or 440 stroker for you. Josh knows what he is doing, and you will get more for your money than just buying a Mopar crate.

Are you gonna try to run an RFE with an engine like that or standalone?

I have a 47RE from a SRT 10 that needs a rebuild. Hope I can get it all working together. Not sure on a rearend yet. I would like to use an older Dana 60 I have. Working with Street works out of Milwaukee.

48RE if it's from an SRT-10. I don't think that's a bolt on if I remember right. Not sure if there's an adapter available. Even if you do adapt it, you'd need some kind of standalone to control it, as the stock PCM will would try to control it with the RFE programming (and that won't work). Older Dana will probably require work to be adapted, but the Dana from an SRT-10 quad cab is a bolt in with a custom driveshaft (my set up). If you're lowered the Dana from an SRT-10 reg cab is undersprung from the factory.

Ideally I like to go Carberated with a manual trans. That would eliminated the ECM. Miss the simple days of no computers on vehicles.

So you're going to gut the truck? The computer networks are so interconnected that it causes problems with other things. It is doable, but you won't have gauges (unless you're planning a custom dash?). Also guessing you don't have emissions laws where you live...?

I may be in over my head on this one. That's why I was asking here. By the time I got it the way I want I could buy a new Corvette or a Hellcat.

I know a guy with a 98 dakota rt
A carbd 360 stroked to 408 or 410. Electric water pump the whole kit. To a 727 to a 3.92 rear from a ram. Gets fed 100 low lead in the fuel cell in the back.
Basically a street tire burning machine lol
And yes the dash is customized and a floor shifter

So yes you should definitely do what you are thinking of :favorites13:

Do what you're planning since anyone can buy a Hellcat.
