Hello Everyone, hope all is well. I am reaching out to you all with concerns regarding my 2014 Ram 1500 Tradesmen with the 5.7 engine. My Truck has 170k miles and its my first time ever owning a truck, Ive had it for over 4 months and I love this truck . However my concern is the oil PSI. On idle I a getting around 22 consistently and once I accelerate it increases to the high 30s. Forgive my ignorance but is that normal based on my truck ? I want to thank you all for answering me in advance and god bless.

My 2017 hemi reads 30 @ idle when at full temp & 50 when above 1000 rpm. When cold it's 50 @ idle. If your engine is quiet, no valve tapping, then I would suspect that the oil pressure sensor is defective.

If you don't have a mechanical oil gauge to check with have someone that does to verify.
Will be oil sending unit if oil pressure doesn't match with mechanical.
If it matches it will be oil pump/bearings or both.

First cheapest thing I'd do is just swap The oil Filter ive seen and Used some straight from Factory that have caused low Pressure issues. Then check oil pressures if it's still bad like said Above it's a bad bearing or an oil Pump.

Thank you
If you're going for a top tier oil like Red Line High Performance 5W30, or High Performance Lubricants 0W30 Super Car oils, you wouldn't need to add in any additives.

If you're going for Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W30 oil (which is a fantastic oil to go with), then add in a bottle of LubeGuard BioTech with each oil change as well!

Keep your oil change intervals at 6,000mile OCI's and you'll be good to go!

If you are using the Red Line High Performance 5W30 or the High Performance Lubricants 0W30 Super Car oils, then you don't need to add this additive on your OCI's.

Just ensure you are using either the Fram XG2 or RP 20-820 oil filters ;)

Royal Purple 20-820 or Fram XG2...
These are your two best oil filter options.

EDIT**
I would also suggest a top tier 5W30 or 0W30 synthetic oil as well, in conjunction with the two oil filters mentioned above.
Hi thank you in Advance I am getting code P1524 while using a royal purple filter 10-48. Ive seen some videos of people saying it could be the filter. Is FRAM XG2 compatible with my 2014 Ram ? Thank you so much.
