[transmission identification-I have a 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 and need to figure out what trans. is in this truck. I have the vechile tag code (DGB), the stamping on the side of the trans. case above the pan (FK52119846AA 2270 2052) and have counted the bolts on the pan (14). Every picture of suppliers numbers 15 bolts and is a different configeration. Is it a 46RH, a 45RFE, 0r what? I want to change fluid and filter, maybe purchase a larger capacity pan, etc. and I need this info. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to this site and have always been a mopar man, at present have a 02 Dakota RT, a 01 Ram 2500, an 89 w250 and 2 other cars, plus my everyday 01 Jeep cherokee.

Does the pan look like either of the gaskets in this picture?

i could be wrong, but i think you should have a 46re, being a v8 5.9 gas engine, if you have the cummins 5.9 than its a 47re. i'm still relatively new to dodge, but if memory serves me the 3/4 gassers got the 46re unless you have the v10 or cummins....

Are you sure that the code is not a DGP? Sometimes thats hard to read. I show that as a 47re. There's no DGB listed.
It's hard to know since you didn't include the motor...although the trans codes should've told us.
