Hope I made the right decision folks, but I guess it really doesn't matter now, because the purchase has been made. I was trying to decide which truck to buy but couldn't figure out how to start a new thread on this forum. I found what I thought was a real good deal while visiting family here in Texas, and just couldn't resist. I bought a new 2017 Ram 1500 Hemi Crew Cab, Lone Star edition, with 17 miles on it for about $$34,000 including the extended warranty and sales tax. The sales tax and the extended warranty were about $3,500 altogether. This is with all rebates applied. I'm still worried about the in town gas mileage but guess I'll have to live with it. I know, you don't buy a truck based on gas mileage. Or so I've been told more than once, but I'm just trying to be more environmentally friendly these days. Beautiful truck. Getting ready to drive it back to Alabama. Picture attached. My original attempt at posting is provided below detailing the options that I considered. How did I do? Guess I'm feeling little buyer's remorse. I've gone from no car payments to two sets of payments.
Trying to buy a new truck to replace my my faithful 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 which was stolen. I now have the following options: 2015 Ecodiesel 1500 LoneStar Crew Cab with 32K miles for $31K; 2016 Ram 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab with 6k for $28,600; or 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star with Crew Cab with 14 miles for $30K, or a Ford 150 2.7L Ecoboost XLT with 13K for $31,000. I drive about 15 miles each way to work daily, with most of that being highway/interstate. I do little to no towing at this time. Mainly just haul garden and home repair items from Lowes. Any opinions?
