Is there anything I should be aware of when installing new batteries in my 2500 CTD?

I figured I would replace one, then the other to prevent power loss to the radio, etc. Will this work? Anything else?

When doing one battery at a time just remember the + positive cable will be hot even after removing it from the first battery since they're wired in parallel. Disconnect the negative first, then the positive. Put the cable end in a leather glove just incase the positive goes to ground to avoid a short and lightning show.
