Hello all!
I am new to the forum and new "maybe" to Dodge's
I am possibly going to purchase a 2000 Ram 1500 5.2L, 2wd lifted 6" with 315/70/16 tires at a really good price . Question is....the truck runs great with 110,000 miles and has a new transmission but it's really doggy with the stock gears.
I have a 19ft travel trailer that weighs in at around 4800lbs loaded and I need to be able to tow it about once a month or so. This truck will be used for weekend get aways riding, fishing, camping, etc.
We mostly go out to the high desert which means some pretty good, long hill climbs. Will this truck work for me if I regear it for the taller tires and trailer? or will anything I do be a waste of time? If the gearing will work what gears would you all suggest?
Thanks in advance and great site!
