Oil Pressure with Pennzoil Platinum

I noticed that my idle pressure is between 31 and 36. Seems like a wide range, just checking to see if that sounds right. Startup is 58 or 59, driving is between 50 and 52. I am getting 23.5 miles to the gallon so i am not complaining about anything on the truck. I just switched to this oil a few weeks ago and checked the numbers the last few days. Curious more than anything.

what were you using prevously (and psi) and what are the weights?

Whatever the dealer put in, 5W-20, and I dont recall looking at the numbers before the oil change.

What oil filter are you running to.

When I run 5w30 penzoil ultra my oil psi is 36-37 at idle hot and 50-52 cruising hot. Roughly 56-57 startup cold. I have never run 5w20 except from dealer oil change. But I know I gained pressure going to 5w30 and when I run redline my pressure goes to 43 idle hot and 53 cruising hot

I use the Mopar 339 filter. I am getting slightly lower numbers than what you are showing crazykid, but on a thinner oil. So that sounds about right.

Ive been running penzoil ultra plat.5w20 for 2 years. Its always 30~32 at temp idle. ~50 running. Its the only oil I have used since the truck is new. I have 20000 miles now , truck really runs well on this oil.

That's what my 2018 reads with Ultra Platinum 5W-20.
